Adoptable Cats

Finnigan

finnigan largeColour: Black & White
Breed: DSH
DOB: 2014
Sex: Male/Neutered
Arrival Date: November 23/16

Finnegan is a handsome five year old tuxedo fellow. He arrived as a compassionate boarder but after ten long months his humans are still homeless so Finnegan needs a new home. He's an extrovert of the cat world and craves attention and people to interact with but he's not totally comfortable with other cats. Finnegan's had his checkup, vaccines and blood tests and a dental and now all he needs to make his life complete is a new home and people that he can call his own and the happily ever after is right around the corner.

Francine (special needs)

francine largeColour: Black & White
Breed: DSH

DOB: 2005
Sex: Female/Spayed
Arrival Date: October 05/06

Francine is very timid but a very sweet cat and we would like to see her have a chance at a normal life and a real home as opposed to scurrying about an industrial yard and never getting enough food or shelter. Francine has made great progress overcoming some of her fears since she came to us in 2006. Francine has been at the shelter for a long time and may take quite a while to adjust to a new home. But with enough love and patience, she may be able to adjust because she does love attention and petting when she gets to know you. Best for a quiet home.

Bella

bella largeColour: Tortie & White
Breed: DSH
DOB:  2012
Sex: Female/Spayed
Arrival Date: November 23/16

Bella has that hint of sadness in her eyes that cats get when people have let them down. First time her humans just moved out and left her on her own and she was taken in by friends. Other than having to live with an energetic younger cat her life returned to normal.  The next setback was even more traumatic and Bella ended up homeless . After a brief stopover at the SPCA Bella arrived at our shelter where she suffered the indignity of sharing space with other cats.

Bella would especially love to be a pampered princess and have her very own special human and that would be good for her waistline because she would have her very own special food bowl.

Her favourite pastime is watching the action around her but not taking any part in it.  It's going to take a bit of time and patience to put the sparkle back in this sweet torti's eyes but once you do you'll have a couch companion forever.

Spunky (Special Needs)

spunky largeColour: Tabby & White
Breed: DMH
DOB: October 2010
Sex: Female/Spayed
Arrival Date: May 23/13

This semi-feral little cat was at the shelter in June 2013 and after her mats were shaved off she went back to her mom and bro at an autowreckers in Surrey. After her protector friend quit working there and moved to the interior she must have decided to go find him as she disappeared for about eight months.  She ended up at the Surrey Animal Centre as a stray, totally matted but otherwise okay so they shaved her and one of our people went and got her and here she is, back at the shelter. Our little diamond in the ruff is very sweet but a bit on the timid side. She has been used to being outdoors and will need easy access to the outside.

Ebeny

ebeny largeColour: Black
Breed: DLH
DOB: 2010
Sex: Female/Spayed
Arrival Date: August 27 2017

Ebeny's human has gone into hospital and can no longer provide a home and care for this very gentle, friendly cat girl so Ebeny had to come to us and we will find her a new home.

She has had her checkup and vaccines and dental cleaning so is totally ready for a new forever after home. She has been a indoor cat and would prefer a quiet home with adults.

Chester (SPECIAL NEEDS)

chester largeColour: Grey & Tabby
Breed: DSH
DOB: March 2007
Sex: Male/Neutered
Special Needs: FIV Positive

Chester was diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) when he first came to RCHS and went to a foster home where had been so happy and well for 4 1/2 years but sadly his foster mom got an agressive form of cancer and died one month after her diagnosis. He's a real sweetheart, kinda shy, very loving and loves to be petted, really enjoys a shoulder scratching too! He needs to be an indoor cat only and preferably an only "child".

Kitty/Beaches

beachesi largeColour: Black & White
Breed: DSH
Sex: Female/Spayed
DOB: August 01/09
Arrival Date: October 25/16

Her name is Beaches but her people called her "Kitty". She's been an only cat since kittenhood and lived with adults only so not used to much "action". Her People are moving to Alberta to live with relatives and there is an allergy concern. (If Kitty - Bea's folks get a place of their own and she not adopted she might move to Alberta). She's a reserved introvert but not mean and once she gets to know someone, she's friendly. Needs a quiet home with adults only.

Laina (special needs)

laina largeColour: Black
Breed: DMH
DOB: 2005
Sex: Female/Spayed
Arrival Date: April 09/08

Laina came to RCHS as a three year-old in the spring of 2008, pregnant and homeless and very fearful. She has had a quiet loving foster home where she has been allowed to be the gentle introvert that she truly is. She enjoys the company of other cats and the opportunity to spend time outdoors during the day with the security of knowing the catdoor is near should she feel threatened. She needs a quiet home with adults – no children or dogs for this sensitive, shy feline princess.
